Michael Rebekah Fleischman is a Chicago-based theatre artist and project manager. She holds a BA in Classical Humanities and Theatre & Drama and an MA in Arts and Creative Enterprise Leadership from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She completed an internship in directing and education at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in 2019. She is a proud alumn of the Young Shakespeare Players theatre program in Madison, WI.
As a theatre producer, actor, director, and educator, she has worked with several companies from her home state of Wisconsin, and is a recent transplant to Chicago. Her artistic expertise is in interpreting and working with Shakespeare’s canon, and her interest is in classical works, as well as plays from the 20th and 21st century that explore storytelling through heightened reality and language, absurdity, and surrealism.
Her career in nonprofit administration has been focused in project management, development, and operations. She is passionate about storytelling, creating inclusive and accessible spaces, and advocating for healthy work environments.
